I am currently the Director of Digital Product Development at Threadless + Artist Shops.
My journey at Threadless has evolved from defining front-end code standards (with an early focus on accessibility and semantic markup) to shaping architectural vision as Director of Front-End Engineering. Leading the launch of Artist Shops deepened my appreciation for data-driven approaches and the powerful outcomes that emerge from thoughtful cross-functional collaboration—insights that fuel my current role as Director of Digital Product Development.
I'm passionate about responsive web design, performance optimization, user experience, analytics and data driven design methodologies.
I came to digital design by way of ceramics, paper making, and print making [mono-type and letter].
Working through art school critiques, and long lessons on typography (while actually setting type!) have helped instill in me a strong drive to bring that sense of craftsmanship to my digital work. Finding time to build with your hands, get inky and make a mess of things is a much needed part of my week.
I grew up on and helped plant one of the first certified organic farms in Iowa and have a strong connection to where our food comes from, how it's raised, and am at one of my happiest cooking for people.
I grill year round, make my own amari, am carving out space in the basement for a curing chamber, and can break down a chicken in minutes.
I also make a mean negroni.
